AMENDMENTS ACCEPTED

London, Nov. 14.

Mr. Lloyd George's amendments to the Insurance Bill, establishing separate funds for Scotland, have been passed by 171 votes to eighty-nine.

Replying to protests from several Scottish members, including the Liberals Capt. D. N. Pirie and Mr. R. ©. Munro-Fergason, and the Labour member Mr. G. N. Barnes, Mr. Lloyd George said that separa tion formed no part of the Govern-|* ment's plan, and that he regretted the Scottish, Irish and Welsh preference for separate funds, as such a plan would introduce complications in the working of the measure, but it was necessary to' defer to it—Reuter.
