Movement of Troops

London, Nov. 16.

Information from Russian sources states that the ultimatum delivered to Persia in consequence of an alleged insult to the Russian Consul-General expired on Monday night. Russia is despatching another battalion to Tabriz and also, upon failing to obtain satisfaction, 200 Cossacks to Ashabad to reinforce the Consular guard.

She will also send troops to the provinces of Guan and Talish, where she asserts that Persia is unable to maintain order. The Russian expedition goes to secure peace and maintain order, not for the purpose of occupation in the broad sense of the word.—Reuter.

ULTIMATUM TO TEAERAN, London, Nov. 16.

According to telegrams from St. Petersburg it is authoritatively stated that unless the Persian Government completely satisfies the demands of the Russian Note, troops will be sent to Kazvin.—Reuter.
