We propose to have the College of Preceptors' examinations here next summer. Several of the seniors, if here then, will take the Ist-class papers. This examination is of about the same standard as the riculation examination of London University, and is frequently taken by boys leaving school at home. Boys in the other forms of the school will also take the College's examinations of lower standards. Though in England there are some signs of a revolt among educationists against what has been called the " tyranny of examinations," it is generally admitted that an oceasionsl public examination is useful as affording an independent test of progress in scholarship.
