A very pleasant shoot took place ast Sunday afternoon notwithstanding the muggy atmosphere and the threatening storm which broke about 6 p.m. The occasion was a competition for a cup presented by a new member who celebrated his admission to the Club in this sporting manner. The conditions were twenty birds Leggett trap, ten birds cross setting, and ten Foochow setting, with the Club Handicap. After the completion of the twenty Leggetts, it looked any odds on one of the long handicaps winning the event, but Mr. Jackson eliot very consistently, and won the cup by one bird from Mr. Pirie, who anneed the sweep. It was most r freshing to sob a vetetah (an original member, we believe, of the Club which was started somewhere about 1894) returning to his form, and the of his friends were of the heartiest ind. The members sise signified their appreciation of the sporting donor in the usual manner.
