The Minister of Finance has published an official statement, that the total amount subscribed to the sixteen millions loan, has reached $23,000,000. The President regards this result a" most satisfactory in view of the dislocation of trade caused by the European war. Consequently, the Government has shelved, for the time being, the plan of raising a second loan, since the success of the first loan has clearly demonstrated thet the Government can surely count upon the country's financial assistance,
