A meeting of gentlemen interested in the above show was held at the Reco Club last Friday. There was not a large attendance, though the Committee were well represented. Mr. Landale occupied the Chair.
The Chairman: This mesting has been called to submit to you the sceounts of the show held last year. You will find copies of these accounts in your places feom which you will see that they close with a balance of $853.61 in hand. Your Committee trust that you will consider this result satisfactory; last year the show was got up somewhat hurriedly, a mistake which this year we hope to guard inst. There are one or two items in the accounts which I might refer to; we commenced with a balance in hand from the show held in 1900 of $193.45 and sent subscription lists round which were well supported. Your present committee hope as the show has now funds in hand it will be unnecessary to again call for subscriptions this yet e_entrance fees and sale of ticket sufficient money for the show if run on the same li year. Turning to the debit side of the accounts the cost of prizes was kept as low as possible, it being considered that exhibitors should be satietied with only a small memento of their success. I may here mention that the first prize in the Ladies Driving Competition, a handsome silver flower stand, was very kindly presented by Mr. H. J. Craig to whom bur thanks are due. The other expenses printing, advertising, and Akew's bill wore kept down as much as possible, and great assistance was rendered the committee both in this respect and in the general arrangements for the show by our indefatigable show secretary Mr. Barrett. We have to thank Mr, A. J. McClure for kindly auditing these accounts. Before I ask you to these accounts 1 think it is only fair I should eny 8 word to express our groat appreciation of the services rendered by those gentlemen who kindly consented to act as judges, Mr. Shaw, Dr. Keylock, Dr. Pratt, and Major Watson. They had a most arduous task which I am sure they performed to the satisfaction of everybody. If anyone has any question to ask with reference to the accounts I shall be glad to answer them. There being no questions I will nom propose, that the accounts as pro-sented be passed.
Mr. L. Midwood seconded, and the resolution was carried unanimously, The Chairman ssid that the next business was to elect committee for the ensuing year. He took it for granted that they were going to have a show this during Y°**- would try to make it an it. Macgregor proposed that the last year's committee, Messrs Burkill, H. E. Keylock, H. G. Gardner, D. Landale, L W. Pratt and W. F. Win-should be re-elected that Mr. H. E. R. Hunter should be elected to take the place of Mr. H. G. Gardner who was going home shortly.
Mr. McKie seconded this resolution.
After it had been carried the Chairman said he supposed that if the Committee could add to their number. Mr. Gardner represented the Recreation Committee and it would be well to have a representative from that committee when he left.
