The troops of the Peiyang army, who are togo to Chekiang and Kis ssu, are expected to arrive there wi the next two weeks.

Mr. Hobson, (famous as the naval lieutenant who sank the steamer " Merrimac" at the entrance to Santiago Harbour daring the Cuban war and now a member of Congress), has introduced a Bill into Congress appropriating fifty million gold dollars for the construction of battleships and authorizing the President of the United States to determine the number. President Roosevelt approves the measure.
