Meeting with Local Chinese Mr. Wen Hsih-tsen, the new: Commissioner of Foreign Affairs, eave a tea party on Thursday at the AB.C. Club to which were invited many of the local Chinese gentry, Dusiness men and bankers. Altoge: ther about 150 persons were present.
The new Commissioner, who made short speech, said that since his rival he had not been able to make, many calls but he had invited those resent, that they might exchange views. He assured the merchants of Shanghai that he would do everything to help them during the present cris Shen Tsing-ching of the Kiangs Educational association suitably responded.
