THE CATTLE sHoW

This is cattle-show week, and London is fall of farmers, The King is again the largest exhibitor, and he lias won. good number of prizes, though his sue cesses are not quite up to the usual mark. The prize for the best hest in the show was won by Mr. Peter Donn with an animal which, strange to say, was placed only second in ite own parti-class—an_ inconsistency which naturally aroused a good deal of comment. The crowning glory of this year's show, however, has been a simultaneous visit from the Sovereigns of Great Britain and Germany. The German Emperor, by the way, has since returned home, leaving nothing but cordial feelings behind him, happy no doubt in the consciousness that his visit has worked wonders in improving the relations between the two countries.
