Tax West Hongkew Police turned out on Wednesday evening at about 8 o'clock in consequence of a report made by the occupants of a kerosene shop, situated in North Soochow Road, near Chekiang Road, to the effect that an extensive robbery had just been committed. It appears that the owner of the shop was absent and five employees allege that six Cantonese, one armed with a revolver and another with " knife, suddenly entered the shop sons, documents in connexion with is work at the time of the famine in 1891, © number of portraits of the author of "War and Pesce," and other interesting objects. The Countess says that her husband, who is in excellent health, is now working hard his book A Coaree of Reading."
