INTERPORT RUGBY

FOOTBALL, Tientsin, February 1.

The Interport Rugby football match between Shanghai and Tien-' tsin was played this afternoon. The weather was fine and it wasa fast game throughout. In the first half Shanghai attacked and at half-time led by one goal and three tries (14 points) to nil. In the second half Shanghai were on the [defensive until the last quarter, when Scott dropped a magnificent goal. The game resulted in a victory for Shanghai by one goal, one dropped goal and four tries (21 points) to nil.

The tries were scored by Donnelly (2), Wheen, Ward and Scott, and one of these was converted by H. H. Fowler. Bat-chart, Wheen and H. H. Fowler played splendidly-—Our Special Correspondent.

Football Club and Hongkong took place this afternoon before an attendance of about 2,000 spectators and resulted in a victory for Hongkong by three goals to nil. The score hardly represents the run of play, for Shanghai had quite as much of the game as their opponents. The forwards played well individually, but lacked co-nbination, and the form of the team as a whole was not up to the usual standard. Shanghai bad hard luck on several occasions and all the goals scored by Hongkong were obtained somewhat luckily—Our Special Correspondent.
