FREIGHT CHANGES

At the present time, with the exception of the Mitsui and Yamaguchi companies, merchants shipping by the South Manchurian Railway must pay the freight in advance at the point of departure of the goods, Since this rangement has caused considerable convenience to merchants residing in Tairen and exporting beaus and other educts from the interior, by waking it necessary to draw drafts or carry the cash to meet the advance freight charges, complaint has repestedly been made to the Freight Department, which, it now seems likely, will grant the desired concession of payment of charges at point of arrival.
