What is believed to be a new gang of armed robbers operated on Thursday night in North Honan Road, neer the jinese Chamber ' of Commerce. Shortly before 7 o'clock, six men, four of them carrying revolvers, entered a Chinese dwelling "house occupied only by a widow and servants. The women were easily intimidated into silence, and the robbers made a thorough search of the house, taking away everything of value' they could lay hands on.
A shot was fired, apparently out of bravado, when the gang departed. Threats possibly accounted for the tardiness with which the matter was reported to the police.
