'A sob-prefecture named Anbua was formed in the Ch'ingyuan prefecture, Kuangei province about two years ago. Last month some of theaboriginal mountaineers there began to commit robberies and murders and on December 27 they met and defeated " regiment of soldiers and s namber of volunteers. The subprefect Whang Vu-teng collected the scattered soldiery and with his own body-guards and some volunteers the mountaineers' camp. He was badly defeated and his retreat to the city of Szeenfa was cat off. The city was cacked and fired by the rebel. General Li Koo-cha has now been ordered by the Governor of Kuangsi to take personally s force of modern trained and armed troops and to suppress the rising.
