In the third round of the American Amateur Golf Champ-jon ship, Sweetser defeated Guildford by 3 and 1, Gardner defeated Shaute by 6 and 5, Ouimet. defeated Vonelm by 2 and 1, and Marston defeated Wells by 4 and Chicago, Sept. 22.
In the semi-final of the United States Golf Association's Amateur Championship, Sweetser, the holder, beat Gardner by 8 and 7. Ma' ston beat Ouimet by 3 and 2.—ston beat Ouimet by 3 and 2.
