London, Nov 29.
Before the House of Commons adjourned, Lord Thynne (U. Bath), asked whether three Sea Lords had resigned and what was the reason of the change, which was unprecedented in the history of the Admiralty.
Mr. Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, replied that Admiral Sir Arthur Knyvett Wilson, First Sea Lord, was due to retire in March on attaining the age of seventy years. Capt. Charles Edward Madden, the Fourth Sea Lord, was due to resign in January, on promotion and aplutment to a sea-going command.
"T was thus confronted," added Mr. Churchill," with the resij tion of half the Board, including the most important member, at a period when the House of Commons was discussing the Naval Estimates and when much of the most important work was in full process of transaction.
