The Manchu Emperor and Empress paid a visit to the Summer Palace to-day. The Emperor left the Forbidden City in a motor-car soon after 11 a.m, accompanied by Mr. R. F. Johnston. The Empress and three daughters of Prince Chun (the ex-Regent) followed in another ear, and in the remaining cara (about seven in number) were seated Mr. Chang (Comptroller of the Household), Messrs, Shao-Ying and Ch'i Ling (Ministers of the Household) and other Palace officials and officers ofthe Guard.
