Dispute Over Distribution of Salt Gabelle Receipts Chengtu, May 24.
After some months of peace, following the capture of Chengtu by General Yang Sen, to-day heavy fighting is reported at 'T'ungehuan between Gen, Yang Sen and Gen, Tien Sung-yao.
The cause is reported to be a dispute concerning the distribution of Salt Gabelle "moneys. For some weeks past the Szechuan Generals have had representatives. stationed there to watch their interests. "No more definite news is available yet.—Reuter's Pacific Service.
