PUBLIC FEELING ALL FOR WU PEI-FU

Peking, July 11.

Probably in no previous domes-tie upheaval has public opinion shown such a keen and intelligent interest in the motives of the rival factions.

With no Chinese press in Peking to put his case before the people, General Wu Pei-fu is looked on as an opponent of militarism, who sincerely desires to promote the welfare of his country, making it China for the Chinese rather than the appanage of another country.

The importance of the issue is not. overlooked, as it is recognized that the future of the pro-Japanese party hangs in the immediate balance.
