Jury's Strong Recommendation to Merey Gibraltar, June 17, Lieut. A. C, Duftield, who was ound guilty to-day of shooting ant Killing Lieut.-Col. J. 8. FitzGerald, she commanded the 2nd Battalion the East Surrey Regiment, has been sentenced to death with a strong recommendation for merey.
Lieut. Dufleld belongs to the Surrey Regiment. On April 7 he entered the orderly room to sce It-Col. FitzGerald and fired two shots, which proved fatal shortly after.
