Defendant told the Court that he was unable to pay the amount claimed, $100, as he had a wife and child Ca support. Plaintiff chal-Tenged the defendant to show that he was legally married and the defendant said that he had received permission from his employers to marry a Chinese and the ceremony had consisted of a photograph being taken of the two contracting parties. His Lordship here re-that it must have been an ial-ceremony and adjourned the ease, instructing the debtor to try and pay $5 a month to the plaintiff and $5 a month to another creditor who had previously obtained judgment.
