The Southern troops which had! been advancing northwards along the Tientsin-Pukow Railway reuchoda point north of Suchow on December 11. The main body of the Southern forces in that region is 20,000 strong. Besides thole, two divisions are stationed in the region of Suchien, and one army corps south of Haichow Tt seems that the Southern forces fare planning to commence a general attack shortly. In the meantime, Gen, Chang Chung-chang is making preparations to ambuscade the Southerners.
