Weddings between Chinese and whites in Canada always arouse public hostility and many have been prevented by the torrent of public opinion as expressed through the press. Vancouver had a ease a year ago where such a union was stopped. Two cases now arise in Toronto. After a delay of several days, entailed by the refusal of cer tain' ministers to perform the ceremony, Florence Fisher. a year-old English girl, and Frank louie, Chinese Chef, have been married by a Methodist minister whose name was not divulge. This was the third in two days of white girls to Chinese. One of the others was not entirely successful.. Cecilin La Croix, 26-year-old Wrench-Canadian girl, who was married to a Chinese, George Kwong, was arrest-fed on a charge of bigamy, complaint having been lodged by Attonia Lo Page of Penetanguishene, who claims to be her lawful husband. hho and the girl were and that his wife left him about years ago.
