Treachery on the Albanian Coast

London, Oct. 7.

It is officially reported in Rome that fire was treacherously opened from San Giovanni, on the Albanian coast, upon an Itslian vessel, which was flying the white flag.

The Italian torpedo-boat destroyer Artigliere, which was patrolling in the vicinity, returned the fire.

The Artigliere was slightly damaged and her commander was wounded in the foot. The damage to the enemy is not known.

This is obviously a censored version of what occurred. It is unofficially reported that 300 Tarks wore killed. It is farther stated that in order to avoid a repetition of such incidents the Italian men-of-war in Albanian waters have been recalled.
