Riots in Tunis

London, Nov. 8.

Telegrams from Tanis state that serious fighting broke out between the Arabs and Italians there yesterday, resulting in a number of persons being killed or wounded.

The police and the troops re-established order. A police sergeant was mortally wounded.

Telegrams to the Paris nows-papers state that the rioting was due to s claim made by the Municipal Council to land containing the Arab cemetery. Several thousand Arabs attacked the land surveyor. The troops fired volleys, killing ten persons and wounding twenty.

According to the " umanité" the riot became a massacre of Italians of whom fifty were killed.—Reuter..
