The Fight at Pengpu

The engagement previously reported appears really to have taken place at Peogpn. Here a force, the strength of which ie quite evidently conjectural, had carefully arranged two gons wb destined ni retreat by pampiog engine of his train.

Untortuaately for the sneeees of this imple and of scheme Chang apparently did a little scoatiog, with the revolt that hie train" was stopped well oat of range aod " general force annihilated " the ted, I know not on what they lost 200 mea killed, fa (about 200 miles ap) with a force which has swollen, whether by recruiting or by ramour I will not venture to say, into a usefal little army of 20,000 with which be may be expected back very shortly to recapture Nankiog.
