A Taoist priest was arraigned in the Provisional Court on July 9 on 4 charge of murdering a compatriot in an alleyway off Tsitsihar Road during the week-end.
Evidence was given by Det-Sgt Telfer that there was reason to believe that a quarrel had arisen between accused and deceased over Hyo Wei lottery ticket. Deceased was shot through the eye and the! buttock and he had been stabbed. When. his body was discovered, the police found an iron bar inside his clothing, thi of the type generally carried by loafers.
