Following upon the defeat of Shensi troops by General Feng Yuhsiang, who dispersed the Shensi forces at Linghouchen, General Chen Shu-fan, telegraphing to the Government, says he has sent representatives to meet General Yen, the new Tuchun, to whom he 's ready to hand over the seals of office when the latter arrives.
The telegram is couched in humbler language than that of earlier despatches but expresses the hope that the Government will give due consideration to General Chen Shu-fan's desire to safeguard the in terests of his officers and men-—Reuter.
