The Rubber Crisis

Controling Interest in Sight London, July 8.

The Rubber Growers' Association is negotiating the details of a scheme for the control of the rubber industry by the formation of a Rubber Producers' Corporation in conjunction with Dutch rubber interests. An authoritative statement is expected shortly, but in the meantime it is stated that the plan involves a capital of about £6,000,- 000 part of which will be provided by the rubber industry, but most of it by a syndicate of capitalists when the requisite control of 2,200,- 000 acres has been secured. The period of control now suggested is five years, and the main object of the Corporation is to control outputs and selling prices.—Reuter.
