In the second session of the trial of the 17 kidnappers who faced the Mixed Court last Wednesday judgment was passed by Dr. Ramondino, the Italian Assessor, and the Magis trate. Two of the gang did not appear before the Court on Friday last {one in the hospital while the other already been sentenced to death by the French Mixed Court.
Evidence was heard 15 prisoners and a long cross examination of each one was carried out after which the Court adjourned for half an hour and returned to give the judgment. The first and fifth accused were sentenced to death, second and third to five years imprisonment, fourth and sixth are expelled, twelfth to be handed over to the Ning Hai authorities through the Chinese Police and the others are to be returned to the French Police
