London, Mar. 6.
In the House of Commons, replying to'Mr. L'Estrange Malone, Mr. Harmsworth emphasized that the conditions under which loans had been made to China by the Consortium were not laid down by the British Government, but were contained in the new Consortium agreement signed on October 15, 1920.
The Government, he said, would not support other banks or other financiers who might wish to make loans to China, if they conflicted with the spirit or the policy of the Consortium agreement.—Reuter.
