Sir,—Just a word of thanks to Dr. MacGillivray for his talk on "The Advance of Astronomy." We up-country folks have the same stars above as you in Shanghai; but none of that Now-Library-to-he, where could be obtained all the interesting information on such subjects. Is it toa much to ask (or hope for) that the good Doctor would be willing to supply the thankful 'Olivers' with some more, and that they might be continued in the same style which the Man-in-the-street. can understand..
