In the region of Machu and Tachiao, in front of Shaokuan, from the lith to the 15th instant, severe fighting took place between the troops under the command of Gen. Chen Chiung-ming on the one hand and the anti-Northern expeditionary forces, the Yunnan troops, the troops under General Li Fu-lin and the troops under Gen. Hsu Tsung-chih on the other. In particular, the attack made by the troops under General Hsu was the severest, but owing to the insufficiency of ammunition, General Hsu's troops suffered losses every time they engaged in battle with General Chen Chiung-ming's forces,—Eastern News Agency. tt
