Suggestions that Chinese language newspapers should not be permitted to publish here were made recently by Chief of Police Walter Long. He complained that a Cainese paper here had published a statement that a city constable had seized liquor in two Chinese restaurants and had extorted $10 ibos in each ease, Later the retracted as unfounded or said prohibition of Chinese language newspapers was impossible as it would also mean suppression of all other language newspapers in Vancouver.
