Tokio, Nov. 3.
According to the "Kokumin," there are 14 bands of bandits, each comprising about 50 men, in the Ussuri district, the distinguishing mark of these "comrades" being their bootlaces.
Most of their leaders are stated to have Japanese wives. The Chief's wife, named Shizuko Nakamura, who is emaciated through being addicted to opium, is known as the "Queen," and she is stated to exercise a powerful influence among these bandits. Their principal object is loot, but there is a likelihood of their joining up with the Koreans.—Reuter.
