Canada and Washington

The people of Canada are following very closely the findings of the Washington Conference and are particularly interested in the Far Eastern questions. I have noticed as I have visited many sections of the country that there isa better understanding of the Oriental situation than there was a few years ago. The sympathy of the people of Canada is with the Chinese. Everybody is delighted with the results of the Conference and especially with the settlement of the Shantung Question. Everybody feels proud of the position taken by the British delegates and that Great Britain proposes to hand back Weihaiwei to Chine.
