The degenerate youth, William Hickman, has been sentenced to death for the murder of Marion Parker, the 12-year old daughter, of a banker, whom Hickman abdueted, murdered and mutilated, sub. sequently handing over the mangled body to her father in exchange for a ransom of $1¥ Hickman escaped in a motorcar but was captured and brought back to Los Angeles and tried.
The defence pleaded insanity but the plea was rejected—Reuter.
