Upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Public Works. the Council has approved the purchase of a new dredger.
Consideration has been given to the type of dredger most suited for local conditions, and the Council has decided to purchase one of the "Grab" type from Messrs Middleton & Ca., Ld., the local agents of Messrs, Priestman Bros. Ld., at a cost, including pontoon, ete., of £3,165.
Provision was made in the current Budget of the sum of Tls. 18,500 against this expenditure.
