Demand for Demolition of Land Investment Ca, Structure Apropos ut the correspondence with reference to the construction of a wall to surround their property in Chinese territory, by the Shanghai Land Investement Ca. the Chinese newspapers have published a letter which is said to have been sent to H. M, Consulate-Generat by the Commissioner of Foreign Affairs, The letter reiterates that the land fon which the wall is being built is in Chinese territory and insists that, it is a breach of erect a wall without permission China' rative rights to first being sought from the Chinese authorities. In accordance with instructions from the Ministry 0! Poreign affairs and the Bureau of Public Safety, therefore, the Foreign Commissioner asks that work shaula be suspended forthwith and that the sections of the wall erected already should be demolished.
