The Wuhan Bureau of Health is finding it very difficult to get parents to register the births of their children." It announces that, during October, the births of 26 boys and 31 iris were registered in Wuhanz 7 and, if those figures are cor rect, there has been great deal of exegeration in the past as to the birth-rate in China. The bureau ite self thinks that they are defective.

Following up the campaign against the doctors of the old school, the barber-chirugeons, the same bureau reports thet now there are 44 medical men with a modern training and:

with an old-style training who' re authorized to practice. Besides these, there are 29 registered midwives. It would appear that both] doctors and midwives ought to find ities for the prac-ice of their professions. The At-alone keep four doctors busily employed.
