Kohler, Wis, July 28

Kohler, known as America's mode! industrial village, was in the throes of a strike to-day that has already! claimed two lives as a result of rioting.

Martial law was proclaimed to-day by Governor Albert G. Kohler to preserve order and protect the property of the mammoth plumbing and fixture plant which he owns.

The plant is the town's only in: j dustry. The plant and the town itself "were laid out by Governor Kohler in 1930 to serve as a model for all other industrial towns in the United States.

The situation quietened when martial law was declared but the workers were in an ugly mood.—Uuited Press.
