The first service in the new series will be given on Jan uary 12, The bells of St, Paul's will frst be broadcast at 7.55 pin. and the service will start at 8 o'clock.

Listeners will remember that this Empire Service was inaugurated by the Dean and Chapter to enable listeners all over the British Isles to take part in a service designed sentially for broadcast to relatives over-seas. In order that this idea [should have an added spiritual force, they monthly. seek to enlist at St. Pout's a congregation drawn from Uisteners who have relatives abroad, in order that there may be an added unity of spiritual thought. Those in [Shanghai who have had the pleasure of listening to services broadcast from London in the past will regret the decision, for whereas it was possible to hear'a service taking place in St. Paul's at 3 pin. Greenwich time, at about 11 pin. Shanghai time, a service commencing at 8 pin. in London, will be heard in Shanghai at 4 a.m. Places like Australia and New Zealand will be similarly deprived of the chance of listening in to the services.
