The telephone office is having quite jo good ramp here recently, according reports brought to my notice, In Jone Instance, two telephone receivers were stolen from desk instruments in Jan office, and the matter was reported not only to the police, but to the telephone ofice, who replaced the missing parts, Within avery. short time, the police were successful in Jeatching the thief, and the receivers were restored, Upon application to the telephone Jomce to exchange the parts, the reply was that as the replacements already Jind been Axed, they could not be faker: "away, and the charge would nave to be met, Thus the people con-Jeerned have two useless receivers in their possession and a bill to foot In the bargain, In the other ease, the mouthpiece only wae taken, and notice given to the telephone office, but fore they could even send to put in the replacement, the missing piece was recovered, but as notice had been sent to the office, the new piece had be installed and the other put on the shelf.

For some of the firms who may be able to satisfy this charge It may not be so serious, but for the small man who gets caught in this way, it Is not 69 good, and it Is about time something was done to remedy the wrong, especially as it is leading to accuse tions against the employees of the telephone ofice, of stealing the parts and reselling them.

The Navy played a good foreitig game, and but for Schroeder in the Club goal, would Ihave scored many times. Ho made some magnificent saves, Including a penalty. The Club team lacked very much in combination, and many me Jaividual efforts were spoilt. through this fault, There were also too many stops for fouls against the Club although minor in character, Of the lwo sides the Navy deserved to win, the extra 15 minutes each way proving foo much for the Club players, This tives the Navy seven wing to five, with four goals in their favour over the whole period, an interesting post
