Papyrus in America

Prospect of a Second Race

New York, Oct. 12.

Papyrus developed a slight lameness in the Tight foreankle after a gallop ' yesterday afternoon. His trainer, Mr. Jarvis, while plainly worried, declared that he was hopeful that the injury would be overcome long before the race. The hard dirt track of Belmont Park is blamed for the lameness.

New York, Oct. 13.

During light work yesterday, which included gallops, Papyrus stepped out freely and afterwards walked soundly to his stable.—Reuter.
