Britons Do Not Hate Germans

"What has Hitler really violated? Not excellent conciliatory" provisions of the Locarno Treaty but two antiquated moth-eaten, restrictive men-sures taken over from the Trealy of Versailles and imbedded in the Locarno Pact. "Hitler must be given to understand that we do not want to inflict on the Reich the smallest fragment of inequality by comparison with other nations, that we Britons, despite our good relations to other countries, really do not hate the Germans. The Rhineland is tree and rightly so. Free it will remain."—Trans-Ocean Kuo Min,
