German Warships Returning

Berlin, June 30.

Besides the cruiser Leipzig, which has entered Kiel, four German torpedo boats, Seeadler, Albatros. Luchs and Leopard, are at present in the English Channel on their return trip from Spain to Kiel.—Havas.

Mr. Anthony Eden, the Foreign Secretary informed the House of Commons to-day that the British Government had expressed regret to Lisbon at Portugal's decision to withdraw facilities granted observers of the Portuguese-Spanish frontier. Portugal would observe her engagements on arms exports to Spain pending consideration by the Non-Intervention of the control scheme. If the former operation of the scheme were resumed, Portugal would restore her facilities to observers. These observers, said Mr. Eden, would therefore remain at their posts in-readiness.—Reuter.
