Head of Sect to Officiate at Temple Anniversary Count Kocho Ohtani, chief abbot of the Higashi-Honganji Temple, and head of the influential Shinshu Ohtani sect, will officiate at the ceremonies commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Higashi-Honganji Temple, Wuchang Road, in mid-October. He will be accompanied by Countess Tomoko Ohtani, sister of Empress Nagako.

News of the religious leader's impending visit was brought here on Tuesday by the Rev. Kensei Takanishi, chief abbot of the local temple, on his return aboard the m.v. Asama Maru from Kyoto.

A 480-page book, describing the 60-year history of the local temple will be issued in the middle of this month.
