Sin-—The Circular recently issued Joy the Shanghai Dock & Engineering JCompany to shareholders is probably fully enlightening to the larger sharcfolders who no doubt know what it a means.
To the smaller shareholder who] ts not constantly in touch with the market it is all a mystery and it might be well to ask for some figures regarding the assets which are being kept out of the amalgamation and which are presumably for distribution when the merger 1s completed.
From the figures quoted each 50 Ins. share of Old Dock will be Jentitied to about $85. of shares in the New Company but what is the ap-Jproximate value of the land, bulld-ings and Docks of, the Cosmopolitan and Old Dock properties and what the value of certain book debts Jand stocks.
It might be well to ask for some: lagures "concerning this, Can the Company oblige?
