The annual general meeting off the Shanghai Lawn Bowls Club} was held Inet Friday evening at the offices of Mesers. Maitland & Ca., Ld. The chair was taken Lt.-Col. T. E. Trueman, President of the club, supported by Capt. F.C. Banham, Messrs, J. Munro, G. Dunlop, and H. Gor don Wright.
'The Chairman, before deal with the past' year's activities touched on the deaths of thei fellow members, Mr. S.-H. McKean and Mr. J, E. Wilson, and expressed the deep sympathy) of the club to their relatives.
The Chairman went on to say:
Last season we made a bad start] and the results of the earlier} inter-club matches played were very unfavourable to the club, as not only did lose' possession of the Wal-Ince" " Cup—which was won last year by the Recreation Club Ihut we lost both our matches with the Recreation Club—one to the Tunior Golf Club and one to our old friends at Yangtezepoo.
