Gunten on Lake Thun Made Desolated by Deluge Basle, July 21.
A heavy thunderstorm accompanied by a cloudburst caused tremendous havoc in the neighbourhood of Lake Thun in Switzerland last night The village of Gunten on the. right bank of the lake is now a scene of desolation. Huge boulders and piles of mud were swept down from the hill-sides by the mountain which rose with incredible rapidity The fire brigades were unable to} cope with the catastrophe and troops had to be sent from Thun to give aid, Damage done is estimated at several million Swiss franes—
